Tag Heuer Monaco 1989 1999 Limited Edition. On 10 July, the third of five limited editions designed to celebrate 50 years of Monaco Soccer was unveiled in New York. With its industrial style the Tag Heuer Monaco 1989 1999 Limited Edition was inspired by the 90s. The iconic chronograph which in its first blue dial version of 1969 was worn by Steve McQueen on the set of the film Le Mans. It stands out in this special edition for a blue silver look with some red elements.
The chronograph with a square stainless steel case has a rhodium-plated dial with a grain pattern and two sandblasted inner dials with blue counters.
The réhaut and the Heuer logo are blue, while the index and central seconds are red. The blue of the Heuer logo and the minute and second scale counters creates a contrast with the red touches on the index hands and the red dial motif. The same color combination is also shown in the blue perforated calfskin strap with red stitching.
Just like the original Heuer Monaco in this model the chronograph buttons are on the right of the case while the crown is positioned on the left.
As in the previous limited edition on the back of this 90’s inspired chronograph, the logo – Monaco Heuer – the words – 1989-1999 Special Edition – and the progressive number are engraved. As in the first model designed by Jack Heuer, the stainless steel back shows vertical motifs with polished and circular finishes with a satin finish.
Inside, the Caliber 11 beats a modern version of the famous self-winding chronograph movement that made its debut in the first Monaco in 1969. The Tag Heuer Monaco 1989–1999 Limited Edition will be produced in a limited edition of only 169 specimens.
